About the Artist
After years of studying realistic painting, I have turned to my imagination to inspire and guide my art. Filtering reality through my personal memories and experiences has enabled me to communicate ideas and emotions in a semi-abstract form that is both unique and exciting.
"Art is not what you see, but what you make others see." -- Edgar Degas
Question: What is your primary medium?
Answer: "I work primarily in oils, but also acrylics, and I will mix these media, as well as combine them with oil sticks, pastels and charcoal."
Question: How would you define your style?
Answer: "My work concentrates on figurative interpretations, meaning that I paint the figure realistically, but not tied to excessive detail. What I want to express is a message that resonates psychologically, emotionally or in terms of socio-political issues."
